An individual session is the best way to learn.
The Alexander Technique is a versatile skill set. Essentially what you are learning is how to meet a stimulus, recognize how you respond and then give your self choices about how you respond. There are 6 essential exercises known as the “classic procedures”:
Semi supine - laying on the back with the feet on the floor, knees folded,
Sitting and standing,
Folding into semi flexion - standing with a fold forward in the hip knee and ankle,
Lunge - the transfer of weight from one foot to the other,
Hands on back of chair - using the hands,
Whispered ah - breath control and vocal production,
Each one of these exercises touches on every aspect of human interaction.
9:00am - 3:00pm Tuesday and Wednesday
A session costs $100 for 45 minutes.
If using therapeutically, a minimum of 24 weekly sessions is recommended.
UVBA rates available.
